In case you didn’t snap up the Masters of the Castle: When the Gavel Falls Box Set the moment it came out, and you just want to read a few of the individual books, today is the release day of Punishing Portia!
You probably remember that the box set involves a slave auction to raise money for charity, and each of the five books follows a different couple. My book features food critic Portia Sands who just lambasted Chicago Restauranteur David Marone in an ill-spirited review. The truth is that she has it out for him because they were in culinary school together in their twenties, and he’d hit too close to home on a comment about her true submissive nature.
To her dismay, she finds him in the audience at the charity slave auction and she’s the only slave he bids on. She isn’t sure if he remembers her and because Castle rules require anonymity, she doesn’t know if he realizes she’s the same critic who just ripped him a new one. To keep matters even more uncertain, he puts her in pet play, which means she can’t speak.
While David is intent on punishing Portia for her mean review, he is a good dom, in tune with her needs and emotions, pushing her limits but knowing when to pull back and give her the reassurance she needs. He keeps her on edge for most of the book, but I assure you, there is a most delicious Happily Ever After.
Here’s a scene where he dresses her in a latex catsuit like this one:
“Sorry, Kitty,” he whispered against her ear. “You’ll have to earn that pleasure.”
